The Design Files Open House Event

THE DESIGN FILES OPEN HOUSE  is a unique collaboration betweenThe Design Files and The Project Agency.

YES it’s a pop-up. But it’s not in a vacant shop front or a shipping container. For one week in December we’re transforming a stunning residential home in Fitzroy, Melbourne, to create a temporary retail event unlike any other.

A natural progression for Australia’s most popular design blog, THE DESIGN FILES OPEN HOUSE is the ultimate stylised Melbourne home, with an added bonus - everything is for sale! From bedlinen to books, artwork, furniture, kitchenware and lighting, each and every item can be purchased on the spot.

We have carefully selected a group of local designers, artists, makers and retailers whose beautiful wares will fill this space. There’ll be a cafe on the roof deck, a flower stall by a fabulous local floral designer, cooking demonstrations in the modern open-plan kitchen, and events every day and night.

THE DESIGN FILES OPEN HOUSE is located at 40 Little Napier Street, Fitzroy. (Map)

RRB3 Heart of Darkness

The interdisciplinary practise of the Melbourne based artist known as RRB3 consists of paintings, drawings, abstractions, photography, object making and word pictures. With formative roots in street art - working at that time under another pseudonym - RRB3 was recognised during this early period as one of Melbourne's most innovative and experimental street art practitioners. More recently RRB3 has deployed an appropriative strategy with his visual arrangements now concerned with identity, imagined places and modes of living - 'the situation we find ourselves in.'
